The websites play and role streamline hosting static web sites, be those simple HTML/CSS/Javascript only or using a static site generator like Hugo.

On the first run the websites play and role do some setup including creating a staging address from your domain and generating Lets Encrypt wildcard SSL certs for it. If your server’s FQDN is alice.example.com staging sites will be available at sitename.stage.example.com

Note – Currently the websites role & play work well as long as your workflow matches one of a limited set, but are not very flexible, so pay close attention the documentation and ask questions if you have a problem (via the issue queue on Codeberg).
